Fluorescent lamp ballasts that have been in use for over 40 years may contain highly toxic PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). The PCB Special Measures Law, revised in 2016, mandates the disposal of PCBs within a specified timeframe. Violations of this obligation can result in improvement orders, penalties, and enforcement actions. The disposal cost for ballasts containing high concentrations of PCBs is quite expensive, approximately 100,000 yen per unit. We will disassemble ballasts that contain PCBs as much as possible and properly separate waste by concentration, significantly reducing disposal costs for our customers. We also handle all the complicated tasks involved in registering with JESCO, a facility for high-concentration PCB treatment, including leakage prevention measures at the work site, coordination with disposal and collection transport companies, and administrative reporting to local governments, all in a one-stop service.
